34 Main Street, Chapelizod, Dublin 20

It was the early childhood home of Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, and also enjoys some literary repute as the ‘The House by the Churchyard’ in his 1863 novel of the same name. Its close proximity to the church and picturesque churchyard, and the narrow lanes which bound it to either side, contribute to its setting and context.

Planning was refused in 2008 to carry out refurbishments, alterations and extensions to existing structure to provide for 6 apartments.
